2011 In Review

Late in 2010 we listed our home for sale in Sioux Falls, packed a few items in our van and headed to Springfield, MO where Mark started a job with the Assemblies of God National Office. Though our home in SD didn’t sell as quickly as we would have liked, we were blessed to be able to live with Christie’s parents in Ozark for five months until our home sold.

On May 16th, we closed on the sale of our home in Sioux Falls and the following day closed on a home in Nixa, MO. We feel so very blessed to have found a home nearby our church, family, and in a community with great schools. The biggest adjustment has been the commute for Mark. What was previously a seven minute drive, is now 30 minutes one way.

One of the great things about living in the Springfield area is the number of great restaurants to choose from. Of course we have hit one of our college favorites a few times, Cheddar’s, and introduced our boys to the “Cookie Monster.” We’ve also stumbled across our new favorite Mexican restaurant, The Purple Burrito, and no one should ever miss a stop at St. George’s Donuts. Our boys love the donuts that are “bigger than your face.”

We are so thankful that God has helped us find a church home and for helping us find ways to get involved and build relationships. We still miss our friends in SD, but are so thankful for the body of Christ that encourages and strengthens wherever you are.
